well fortunately you came to the right place because I have been able to fix this issue numerous times with the customers that I have worked with remotely on there computer,by following a few steps you can have you Microsoft Word issue resolved.
The first step is to exit out of Microsoft Word because if the program is opened it will prevent you from making any changes,The next Step is to Click on the Start Button then click on Control Panel then click on Folder Options,Once your in folder options click on the tab at the top called View the locate in the List Hidden files and folders and place the dot on Show hidden files,folder,and drives.
By default its on Don't show hidden files,folders,or drives then click on Apply at the button right then click on the OK button.The purpose of doing this is because you need to be able to locate the file called Normal.dot or Normal.dotm which is another name for the file to be deleted the way to locate the files is to click on the Start Button.
Then click on search For Files or Folders the make sure you click on the C: DRIVE because that's the place you want to be searching for the file on once you have located the file or files to be deleted remove the Normal.dot or Normal.dotm from you computer.
You remove the file by click on the file with the right click and then clicking on delete and then you will be warned are you sure you want to remove the file ,click yes,once the file is removed please restart your computer ,Your Microsoft Word issue should be resolved.
