The first thing to do is to check your computer for a virus because a virus can make the computer work slow,in oder to do that you must have an antivirus program installed on your computer,then you must run updates to the antivirus program to make sure your checking the pc for the latest virus,
if there is a virus detected just follow the steps on the virus program to remove it,remember that virus programs can take as mush as 4 hours to check your pc depending on the size of your pc hard-drive,if no virus are detected you can proceed to follow the next step which is to eliminate unwanted program on the system that usually get installed while surfing the web,
The best way I found to remove the unwanted programs and to eliminate too many programs from running in the background have been to use ccleaner made by Piriform its easy to use and website has step by step instruction on how to use the program,
Ccleaner program allows you to clear cookies and system cache for the windows temporary internet folder to clear out hard-drive space and ccleaner also has an option to clean registry of no longer in use registry entry and with ccleaner it allows you to disable programs that don't need to be running in the background from you windows startup,
Last but not least you have an option to remove programs that can slow the system down like too many windows toolbar,after using this great software,you must also run updates to your computer ,windows updates and adobe updates and Java updates also to updates Microsoft silverlight with is a plugin which allows you to watch videos on netflix,
After following these steps it is recommended to restart you computer for settings to take affect.
